Languages we speak shapes how we think

Languages are not just ways of communicating but rather represents more complex view of the world

I always thought languages are portal to the world. Each language have evolved in its own unique environment and provides a distinct way of looking at the things, ideas and all that goes around us.

As a native speaker of 3 different languages, I experienced this first hand myself and always found it fascinating that I could approach exactly same thing or idea from completely different angle thanks to the innate structuresof each language.

In a recent TED talk, cognitive scientist further explored this idea that the language we speak shapes our ideas and mind in ways we never fully recognised before.
